Who we are
Bouncing Buddies is made by Chakrit Thong Ek in Singapore, under the name KINET LAB. This policy covers this website, the browser game and the Android and iPhone apps. Questions about your data go to support@kinetlab.games.
What we collect and why
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Your account: email address, how you signed in, and a name if Google or Apple provides one | To sign you in, keep your progress safe and help if something goes wrong |
| Your game: player name, buddy, settings, progress, stars and medals | To save and restore your game |
| How you play: levels, times, retries, clears, replays, session length, app version and device type | To replay races, tune difficulty and fix bugs |
| Tester sign-ups: invite codes, contact details you give us, your Google account email if you join our tester Google Group, and your email if you ask to hear about iPhone | To run testing: group members get early access on Google Play, and we email you when Bouncing Buddies comes to iPhone |
| Visits and taps: which page of this website you viewed, which play, tester, Google Play or iPhone buttons you tapped (on the site and at the end of the browser trial), a random visit ID and device type (such as “phone-android”) | To count how many visitors try the game and get the app. It uses no cookies and isn’t linked to you or your account |
| Purchases in the Android app: what you bought, when, and Google Play’s order ID and purchase token | To deliver what you bought, restore it, and handle refunds. Google Play takes the payment; we never see your card details |
| Ads in the Android app: your device’s advertising ID, which ads were shown or watched, your ad consent choices, and IP-based approximate region (handled by Google AdMob) | To show ads, to give you the reward when you choose to watch one (AdMob tells our server the ad finished), and to prevent ad fraud |
| Crash reports from the apps: what went wrong, device model, operating system, app version and your random account ID (Firebase Crashlytics) | To find and fix crashes and errors |
| Leaderboards: your player name, buddy, distance and whether you used a power-up | To show the Daily and Endless rankings, which other players can see |
| Feedback and messages you send | To reply and to improve the game |
| Friends you pick, and challenges or replays you share | To make those features work |
| IP address and basic browser and network details, handled by our hosting and sign-in providers | To deliver the site and keep it secure |
We never see your password: Firebase handles sign-in. We don’t ask for your location, contacts, camera or microphone. Please keep sensitive personal details out of feedback.
On your device
The game saves your progress and settings in your browser or on your phone, which is how you can play without an account. How you play (levels, times, clears, session length and device type) is sent when you’re online, even before you sign in, under a random ID for this browser or phone; if you sign in later, it’s linked to your account. Other uploads wait until you’re signed in. Clearing site data or uninstalling removes that local copy, but not your cloud account.
This website uses no cookies, advertising trackers or analytics services, and its fonts, images and videos are served by us. It counts visits and button taps anonymously (see above): the only thing it keeps in your browser for that is a random visit ID, which is deleted when you close the tab. Sign-in providers may store what they need to keep you signed in.
Who else is involved
We use Google Firebase for sign-in, cloud saves, hosting and crash reports, Google AdMob for ads in the Android and iPhone apps, and Google Play or Apple’s App Store for app purchases. Google processes this data for us under its own terms: see Firebase privacy and Google’s privacy policy. Joining our tester group happens on Google Groups under Google’s terms, and Google Play uses it to give you access. If we test on iPhone, we’ll share the emails of people who asked to join with Apple TestFlight so they can invite you.
Leaderboards show your player name, buddy and distance to other players. Challenges and replays you share show your player name, buddy and run to the people who receive them, so use a nickname if you prefer. Otherwise we only disclose data when the law requires it, to protect people or the service, or if the game changes hands, in which case we’ll tell you first. We don’t sell your personal information.
Ads and purchases
Ads. The Android and iPhone apps show ads served by Google AdMob: short ads between levels, and rewarded ads you choose to watch for a bonus (such as doubling the Buttons from a run). The browser game and this website show no ads. Before the first ad, the app asks your birth year. It keeps only whether you’re over 13, on your device. Under 13, or before you answer, you only get non-personalised, child-safe ads. Otherwise AdMob uses your device’s advertising ID and may personalise ads (on iPhone, only if you allow it when Apple’s tracking prompt asks); see how Google uses information from apps that use its services. If you’re in the UK, the EEA or Switzerland, the app asks for your consent before personalised ads, and in US states with privacy laws you can opt out of the sale or sharing of data for ads. You can change these choices in the app, and reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone’s settings (Google → Ads).
Purchases. Button packs, the Starter Pack and the Ad-Free Pass are bought through Google Play or Apple’s App Store, which handles the payment and refunds; we only receive the order details we need to deliver them. iPhone purchases are not available yet.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and progress while you use the game. Play records, feedback and sign-ups are kept while the game needs them, purchase records as long as the law requires for tax, refunds and disputes, and we regularly remove or anonymise what we no longer need. There isn’t a fixed automatic deletion schedule yet.
Our providers may process data outside Singapore; we make sure it’s protected as the law requires. We use access controls and encrypted connections, though no online service can promise perfect security.
Your choices
Email support@kinetlab.games to see, correct or delete your data, or to withdraw your consent. Depending on where you live, you may also be able to object to some uses, limit them, or get a copy of your data. We’ll check the account is yours first. Never send us a password.
To delete everything, see deleting your account. Signing out, clearing the game or uninstalling doesn’t delete cloud data. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you can contact Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Commission or the regulator where you live.
Younger players
Bouncing Buddies is for players aged 13 and over, even though it looks cute. If you’re under the age at which you can agree to this yourself where you live, ask a parent or guardian first. If you think a child under 13 has given us personal information, email support@kinetlab.games and we’ll remove it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle data, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. Where the law requires it, we’ll also tell you directly or ask for your consent.
