Mewmetry
Privacy policy
What Mewmetry collects, why, and what you can do about it. We’ve kept it short and plain.
In short
- You can play as a guest. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we keep your email and your progress so you can pick up where you left off.
- Leaderboards show a player name we generate for you, never your real name or email.
- The phone apps show ads from Google AdMob. We don’t use analytics trackers, cookies or your location.
- We never sell your data. Email support@kinetlab.games any time to see, correct or delete it.
Who we are
Mewmetry is made by Chakrit Thong Ek in Singapore, under the name KINET LAB. This policy covers the Mewmetry apps for Android and iPhone, the browser version, and these web pages. Questions about your data go to support@kinetlab.games.
What we collect and why
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| A random player ID | Created the first time you open the game, so your progress and leaderboard rows belong to you without needing an account |
| Your account, if you sign in: email address, how you signed in (Google or Apple), and a name if Google or Apple provides one | To sign you in and keep your progress safe on a new phone |
| Your game: level progress, best times, settings, Paw Coins, hints, Wardrobe items, Daily streak | To save and restore your game. It’s kept on your phone, and in the cloud once you sign in |
| Leaderboards: a player name we generate for you (a friendly word pair, never typed), the highest level you’ve reached, your total solve time, and your Daily time and hints | To show the Journey and Daily rankings, which other players can see |
| Ads in the phone apps: your device’s advertising ID, which ads were shown or watched, your ad consent choices, and IP-based approximate region (handled by Google AdMob) | To show ads, give you the reward when you choose to watch one, and prevent ad fraud |
| Purchases, when the app offers them: what you bought and when, and the store’s order ID | To deliver what you bought and restore it. Google Play or the App Store takes the payment; we never see your card details |
| Messages you send us | To reply and to improve the game |
| IP address and basic device and network details, handled by our hosting and sign-in providers | To deliver the game and keep it secure |
We never see your password: Google, Apple and Firebase handle sign-in. Mewmetry doesn’t ask for your location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone, and it doesn’t use analytics or crash-reporting services.
On your phone
Your progress and settings are saved on your phone, which is how you can play offline and without an account. Uninstalling the app removes that copy, but not your cloud save if you signed in.
Who else is involved
We use Google Firebase for sign-in, cloud saves, leaderboards and hosting, Google AdMob for ads, and Google Play or the App Store for purchases. They process data for us under their own terms: see Firebase privacy, Google’s privacy policy and Apple’s privacy policy.
Leaderboards show your generated player name, level and times to other players. Otherwise we only share data when the law requires it, to protect people or the service, or if the game changes hands, in which case we’ll tell you first. We don’t sell your personal information.
Ads
The phone apps show ads served by Google AdMob: a small banner, and rewarded ads you choose to watch for a bonus. AdMob uses your device’s advertising ID and may personalise ads; see how Google uses information from apps that use its services. If you’re in the UK, the EEA or Switzerland, the app asks for your consent before showing personalised ads, and you can change that choice in the app. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone’s settings. Remove ads, when it’s offered, turns the ads off.
How long we keep it
We keep your account, cloud save and leaderboard rows while you use the game, purchase records as long as the law requires, and messages while we need them to help you. We remove or anonymise what we no longer need. Our providers may process data outside Singapore; we make sure it’s protected as the law requires. We use access controls and encrypted connections, though no online service can promise perfect security.
Your choices
Email support@kinetlab.games to see, correct or delete your data, or to withdraw your consent. Depending on where you live, you may also be able to object to some uses, limit them, or get a copy of your data. We’ll check the account is yours first. Never send us a password. To delete everything, see deleting your account.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you can contact Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Commission or the regulator where you live.
Younger players
Mewmetry is for players aged 13 and over, even though it has a cute cat. If you’re under the age at which you can agree to this yourself where you live, ask a parent or guardian first. If you think a child under 13 has given us personal information, email support@kinetlab.games and we’ll remove it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle data, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. Where the law requires it, we’ll also tell you directly or ask for your consent.
